Open to monohull racing and cruising yachts (see precise regulations in the Sailing Instructions), this regatta is traditionally held on the last weekend of August. Every year, it welcomes the best solo sailors on Lake Geneva, who compete on a course between Geneva and Le Bouveret.
Since its creation in 1974 by Gérald-A. Piaget, the Translémanique solo race is one of the main events of the Lake Geneva sailing season. Its track record includes the names of some of the best sailors on Lake Geneva, as well as some of the biggest names in international sailing. Single-handed sailing on the racing yachts of Lake Geneva is a delicate exercise, requiring excellent knowledge of your yacht, a good understanding of Lake Geneva’s weather patterns, patience, endurance, courage and physical strength. More than any other race on Lake Geneva, the Translémanique en Solitaire involves surpassing oneself.
