It’s an exciting last-minute announcement that the Syz Translémanique en Solitaire organizing committee is sharing today: Charlie Dalin will be the ambassador for the 2021 edition. On land, but also on water! The 37-year-old French skipper finished second in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe and recently won the Rolex Fastnet Race in the IMOCA category aboard Apivia. He’ll be changing support this weekend as he sails aboard Katana. A big first for the Le Havre-born racer, who will be discovering the all-new Luthi 1090 on Saturday. Third in the Genève-Rolle-Genève and second in this year’s Bol d’Or Mirabaud, Philippe de Weck’s monohull could continue its excellent start to the season.
“I’m delighted to be taking part in the Syz Translémanique en Solitaire 2021, and proud to be its ambassador. It’s a first for me on Lake Geneva, and I’m really looking forward to discovering the water, the boats dedicated to sailing on this lake, and meeting the skippers with whom I’ll be sharing this regatta!” he declared.
