Before taking part in the Syz Translémanique solo race, Justine Mettraux will take part in the legendary Rolex Fastnet Race at the end of July aboard her IMOCA Teamwork. The boat was relaunched at the end of June and training is now well underway in Brittany. However, Justine will have a little rest at the beginning of August before returning to Switzerland for the Translem’ and then the Défi Azimut in September.
” I’m really pleased to be sailing on Lake Geneva again,” shares Justine. “It’s been about ten years since I raced on the lake and I’m going to have to remember how to set up a strategy on this body of water with such particular winds. ”
Justine Mettraux will be competing in the Syz Translémanique en Solitaire aboard Thierry Bottge’s beautiful Luthi 38, “Body & Soul”.
” I’m looking forward to sailing on Body & Soul,” adds Justine. ” I’ve never sailed this boat before. My family and I have a cruising boat that has been restored by the Chantier Naval Luthi in Crans; I’m delighted to be sailing on a boat that has just come out of this yard. .
Justine will be in Geneva from Friday, the day before the regatta, to take charge of the boat, check everything with the owner and try to be as efficient as possible in such a short space of time.
” It’s always a pleasure to come home,” concludes Justine. ” This race was an important milestone in my solo career and I can’t wait to come back and do it again, even more so for the 50th edition! “
